Thanksgiving in New Orleans
Ok, so it doesn't have quite the same ring as "Christmas in Connecticut" but Thanksgiving in New Orleans is just as much fun, I can assure you. Thanksgiving weekend kicks off a six month period of pretty much nonstop partying in New Orleans - from Thanksgiving to Christmas (and Reveillon) to New Years, to Mardi Gras - then the round of spring festivals culminating with Jazzfest at the end of April. It's just after hurricane season (or on the tail end anyway) and the accompanying heat and humidity of summer, but before the chill of winter sets in. A cold snap blew through bringing 40 degree temperatures for the first half of the week, but the weekend after Thanksgiving it warmed up to a balmy 65.
